Investments in infrastructure of strategic importance (2014-2020)
The development planning of the Port of Thessaloniki for 2014-2020 includes the expansion of Pier No 6, as an investment in infrastructure of strategic importance, as per the following:
- Expansion of the Container Terminal by 550m in length, (quay No 26), 250m in width and 16m in depth. The expansion will be supplemented with structural works (buildings, machinery, construction of a new entrance gate for the trucks) as well as with the procurement of state-of-the-art mechanical equipment, (Bridge-cranes Post Panamax and Super Post Panamax etc.). After completion of the project, the Container Terminal will have an operational quay length of 1,120m, it will cover an area of 550,000 square meters and it will have a capacity of 1.2 million TEUs.
- The expansion of the Bulk Cargo Terminal by 600m in length(quay No 24), 250m in width and 16m in depth.

The above projects are in total maturity stage as per their materialization
