Today, the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Stefanos Gikas, visited ThPA S.A. The Deputy Minister was welcomed at the ThPA S.A. Administration Building by the Executive Chairman of the BoD of ThPA S.A., Mr. Athanasios Liagkos, and the CEO of ThPA S.A., Mr. Ioannis Tsaras.

During the meeting, Mr. Liagkos and Mr. Tsaras briefed Mr. Gikas on the implementation status of the strategic investments of ThPA S.A., which aim at the continuous upgrading of the infrastructure, equipment, and services of the Port of Thessaloniki. Particular emphasis was placed on the socio-economic impact of the Pier 6 expansion project, as well as the initiatives of ThPA S.A. related to its sustainable development across the full spectrum of its operations, offering added value to the Greek society.

Mr. Gikas expressed his satisfaction with the development plan ThPA S.A. and highlighted the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of the Port of Thessaloniki as a freight hub directly connected to major ports in Northern Europe and key Mediterranean ports, significantly boosting the national economy.

Mr. Liagkos thanked Mr. Gikas for the constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, acknowledging that it has a crucial role in shaping high-standard port infrastructure that serves as a gateway to growth and investment.
