ThPA S.A. has established the following Committees, based on Law 4706/2020 on Corporate Governance. 

Board of Directors Composition

Athanasios Liagkos is currently the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thessaloniki Port Authority (ThPA) S.A., the Chairman of the Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME) and the Chairman of “Exantas” Port Training Institute. He has served as Deputy Chairman, D. Chief Executive Officer and member of the BoD of Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) S.A.

He was member of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund as a coordinator of the National Strategic Plan for Ports and Marinas and he served as a BoD member in all Port Authorities in Greece.

Also, served as Chief Executive in banks, financial institutions and large enterprises in Greece and abroad, as well as member of the Board of Directors in company groups.

He has as extensive expertise in the fields of corporate strategic analysis and corporate governance. He studied economics at the University of Athens and holds an MBA postgraduate degree.

He is member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, the Association of Chief Executive Officers (EASE) and the Management Committee of the Federation of Industries of Greece (SBE).

He has held Executive positions in the Port industry for the last 20 years.

He has held before CMA during 12 years various positions as COO and CEO in 3 French Port Authorities.

He currently holds the position of Central Terminal Director (CMAT and Terminal Link) at CMA CGM and over the last 7,5 years he has served as CMA CGM Group Terminal Director, Vice President and Deputy CEO CMA Terminals Holding and Vice President and Deputy CEO of Terminal Link.

He has held executive positions for over 25 years in the Port industry and Logistics sector, having an international management experience with operational excellence in multi-purpose terminals, container operations, intermodal transport and extensive expertise in operational performance, business development, organizational restructuring and optimization.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Transport and over his extensive experience in the port sector, he has served in executive positions among which in the Dutch Port industry, such as in the Port of Rotterdam, and as CEO of the multipurpose Terminals in the Middle East.

He has been a member of Thessaloniki Bar Association since 2008, having previously been a partner in a law firm in Thessaloniki. He is the Director of the Legal Department in a Group of companies with diverse activities and a member in the Board of Directors of various companies.

He has extensive experience in the corporate governance of societes anonymes, especially in the field of transport and tourism and specializes in mergers & acquisitions of companies in Greece and abroad with a particular emphasis on stock market transactions.

Ms. Zonglyu LU joined Terminal Link in 2019 and now serves as the Project and Commercial Manager.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Logistics Engineering from Shanghai Maritime University and has over 15 years of experience with extensive expertise in container terminal operation, marketing, commercial negotiation, business development, project management, public relations, etc.

 

Mr. Panagiotis Stampoulidis is an Executive Director and Executive Member of the BoD of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) and a non-executive Member of the BoD at ThPA S.A.

Mr. Stampoulidis is a seasoned and skilled executive, with a significant tenure in managerial positions in companies and organizations of the private and the broader public sector. With a 15-year career in executive positions with high-level responsibilities, Mr. Stampoulidis will support ThPA S.A.’s BoD in a series of areas related to the company’s business activities, as well as its growth and investment planning.

 

Among other things, he has a broad experience and specialization in the fields of development plan design, restructuring, and execution of public contracts, and he has also managed a wide array of technical and financial projects, as well as projects related to the restructuring and streamlining of corporate procedures. Throughout his career, he has emphasized on promoting innovations and on enhancing the productivity and efficiency of organizational structures and processes.

From 2019 to 2021, he also served as Secretary General for Commerce and Consumer Protection, promoting important reforms for the functioning of the market, consumer protection, and the implementation of major public contracts.

 

He is graduate of the School of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and, since 1984, a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and the Association of Greek Architects (SADAS-PEA). He is holder of the Certificate for the 2018 C-Blue Training Program of CMPort and Shanghai Maritime University. Since 1984, he has been working as a freelancer, designer, and supervising engineer with forty years of experience in design, study, supervision, and construction of buildings, in the functional design of spaces and organization of construction sites. His business activity includes the establishment and operation for thirteen years as a partner and manager of the publishing-advertising-construction company Eurodiastasi Ltd.
He has held senior management positions in various organizations and was a member of various associations, cultural institutions and Chambers of Commerce.
In the period 2005-2011, he served as an architect in the Prefect’s Office and was responsible for the design and operation of the Cultural Center “Polychoros Apollon” of the Prefecture of Piraeus. From 17/10/2011 to 27/12/2013, he served as Deputy Administrator and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Special Anticancer Hospital “METAXA” in Piraeus.
From 2008 to 2010, as a representative of the Association of Greek Architects (SADAS-PEA), he was Regular Member in the Town Planning and Architectural Control Committee of Piraeus Town Planning.

From 2005 to 2010, he participated in the auxiliary work of support to the Administrative and Educational Staff members at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning of the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering of National Technical University of Athens.

Since 23/03/2018, he has been an independent member and Chairman of the Audit Committee in the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Port Authority (ThPA) S.A.

Also, in his capacity as an engineer and having served as a senior manager in companies and bodies of the public and private sector, with legal responsibilities including representative issues such as the Environment, the Society and the Corporate Governance (ESG), he has gained a long experience on issues related to the identification of risks associated to sustainable development.
He has been distinguished and honored by many institutions, and has received international recognition for his writings, as he has written and led the publication of many books on European travel and Greek culture, with emphasis on the architectural heritage in the ports of the Mediterranean, which have been deposited in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (International Library of Alexandria).

Angeliki Samara is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business Administration, University of Macedonia. She obtained her BSc in Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, pursued her MSc degree in Applied Economics and Finance with academic direction in Applied Accounting and Auditing from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Surrey, UK. She also holds a professional qualification in Audit from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL).

She has extensive experience in accounting field and in the oversight of financial reporting and audit. She is a member of the Quality Control Board (QCB) of the Hellenic Accounting and Auditing Oversight Board (HAASOB) and of the Quality Control Committee (QCC) of SOEL.

She has been an expert in EU twinning program on audit and accounting standards and corporate governance and a member of the team in the General Accounting Office (Ministry of Finance) for the preparation of the new Chart of Accounts for the Greek General Government. She is also the President of the Examinations Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL) for the conduction of the professional exams for Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Audit Committee and an Independent Non-Executive Members of Alpha Astika Akinita S.A. and Alpha Life AAEZ. She has participated in working groups of the Hellenic Accounting and Auditing Standards Oversight Board (HAASOB) on the transposition of Directive 2022/2464 as regards Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSRD). She has also attended seminars held by the Committee of European Auditing Oversight Bodies (CEAOB) with regard to ensuring the submission of sustainability reports.

She participates in national and international conferences in the accounting and audit fields. Her research interests include Financial Reporting, International Financial Reporting Standards, Accounting, Auditing and Audit Committees and ESG. Her work has been presented in various academic conferences and has been published in peer reviewed academic journals.

She is a C-level executive in the field of Logistics and has 25 years of experience in supply chain management. She is one of the first women in Greece to study and work in the supply chain sector and to hold positions of high responsibility in this field.
She has extensive experience and knowledge in Project Management and Strategic Business Planning.
She is a graduate of Athens University and holds a Master’s Degree in International Transport and Trade.
She is married and mother of one daughter. Since 1998, she has been member and has served as Vice President of EEL (Elliniki Etaireia Logistics). She is also member in various Chambers and volunteer in charitable associations.

She has the appropriate knowledge on issues relating to the integration of ESG metrics in the governance of the companies, and the compliance of listed and non-listed companies in Greece and the new Climate Law and the new European Standards that must be transposed into the national Law no later than the 6/7/2024.
She takes part in working groups involved in the review of ESG issues and the resulting benefits for companies as well as the best practices to enhance business sustainability.
