The Deputy Minister for Social Security, Mr. Konstantinos Karagkounis, accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki A, Mr. Diamantis Golidakis and officials of the Ministry, visited ThPA S.A. on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The Deputy Minister was welcomed at the Administration Building by the Executive Chairman of the BoD of ThPA S.A., Mr. Athanasios Liagkos, the CEO of ThPA S.A., Mr. Ioannis Tsaras and other executives of the Company.
During the meeting, Mr. Liagkos and Mr. Tsaras had the opportunity to brief Mr. Karagkounis about the significant socio-economic impact of ThPA S.A. focusing on the employment sector and presenting the figures of new hires since the privatization (2018) until today. In addition, the promotion of linking entrepreneurship to the labour market through vocational education and training opportunities was discussed in a particularly good atmosphere.
On the part of the Deputy Minister, particular emphasis was placed on communication with the employees’ representative and the resolution of pending issues from the past. At the same time, the Deputy Minister acknowledged the contribution of ThPA S.A. to the creation of new work positions, noting that he looks forward to the creation of even more new work positions in the future.
Mr. Liagkos thanked the Deputy Minister for the excellent cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and ThPA S.A., highlighting that the stable growth path of the Port is constantly creating new employment opportunities in a variety of fields.
