The Ambassador of Moldova, Andrei Popov, visited ThPA S.A. today. During the meeting, the Executive Chairman of the BoD & Managing Director of ThPA S.A., Thanos Liagkos informed Mr. Popov on the progress of the implementation of the Investment Plan with emphasis on the upgrading of the infrastructure and equipment of the Port, as well as the launch of a weekly container ship service, which connects the Port of Thessaloniki with the ports of Southampton (UK), Antwerp (Belgium), Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Hamburg (Germany), classifying it now in the top category of the European container liner shipping map.
In addition, Mr. Liagkos referred to the connectivity of the Port of Thessaloniki with the Balkan markets through direct rail services from Thessaloniki to Sofia and Nis, noting that the mission of ThPA S.A. is to bring the supply chain of the wider region in which it operates into the new era, providing connectivity that facilitates business growth and promotes sustainability, economic and social added value for all its partners and the development of the port.
