Visit of the Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Ioannis Smyrlis accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place today, Wednesday June 16, 2021 at ThPA S.A.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of the BoD of ThPA S.A., Thanos Liagkos, the Managing Director – Chief Executive Officer of ThPA S.A., Franco Nicola Cupolo and other executives of the company.
During the meeting, which took place in an excellent atmosphere, the Management members of ThPA S.A. informed the Secretary General of the progress of the infrastructure development projects, focusing on the Expansion of Pier 6, the equipment and the provided services modernization program in the Port of Thessaloniki and the development strategy of ThPA S.A. in South East and Central Europe.
The Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Ioannis Smyrlis recognizing the extraordinary prospects due to the strategic location of the Port of Thessaloniki as the main gateway port to South East and Central Europe pointed out the leading role of the port in the country’s international development. Mr. Smyrlis emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will contribute significantly to the strengthening of the position of the port in the global port industry and the logistics sector.
The Executive Chairman of the BoD of ThPA S.A., Thanos Liagkos warmly thanked the Secretary General for the constructive meeting highlighting that ThPA S.A. is a reliable and fast-growing organization that cares about its people, innovates, generates financial added value and is socially active and responsible.
