The impressive cruise season in Thessaloniki concludes today with the arrival of Viking’s vessel Viking Venus. The 2022 cruise season in the Port of Thessaloniki started on February 5th, earlier than ever before and concludes with the 61st arrival, representing an increase of approximately 260% compared to 2021.
The Executive Chairman of the BoD & Managing Director of ThPA S.A., Thanos Liagkos, accompanied by a team of executives of the Company visited the cruise ship today, expressed their thanks to the representatives of Viking for their trust and cooperation and exchanged greetings with the Captain, crew and passengers of the vessel.
At the same time, representatives of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organisation welcomed the passengers of the cruise ship, as in every arrival, offering them useful material and information about the destination.
Thessaloniki is a modern European and multicultural city at the center of Northern Greece and the main gateway for the Balkans and the broader Southeast, Central and Eastern European region with 15 UNESCO World Heritage sites and more than 30 museums walking distance from the port.
Today more than ever, Thessaloniki and the broader region offer cruise visitors unique and unforgettable cultural, historical, archeological and gastronomic experiences. The destination is experiencing spectacular growth in the Cruise sector with 2023 already having nearly 70 arrivals scheduled, as leading companies in the cruise industry have included Thessaloniki in their itineraries.
