2019 Showed Volume Increase for the Port of Thessaloniki

Financial year 2019 ended with a positive trend, since an increase in volumes was recorded in both, the Container Terminal and the Conventional Cargo Terminal. More specifically, the Container volumes traded reached 448.766 TEUs and the Conventional Cargo volumes reached 4.470.881 tons of general and bulk cargo, posting an increase of 6% and 19% respectively in the two Sectors, compared to 2018.

The Port of Thessaloniki is steadily growing in all activities, expanding co-operations and synergies in the Hellenic market and in all neighboring countries.

The implementation of the strategic investment of the Expansion of the Container Terminal, will provide the ground to serve vessels of larger capacity, thus rendering the Port of Thessaloniki a key Transportation Center for the wider geographical area of the Balkans and the S.E. Europe.

The steady increase in demand for port services and the increase in the size of the incoming vessels, prove that this effort is gradually performing.
